MiX by Powerfleet moves into supply chain and transport management with Intellichain acquisition

MiX by Powerfleet started working with Intellichain in mid-2011, and Gert Pretorius, Managing Director MiX by Powerfleet (Africa Fleet Solutions) said they immediately found a compelling business case to acquire the company as a whole. Intellichain focuses on supply chain and transport management, resulting in specialised cross-platform supply chain solutions for MiX by Powerfleet’ enterprise fleet customers.

Pretorius said the Intellichain solutions are “highly compatible” with MiX by Powerfleet’ fleet management solutions. “Our fleet business is structured around customising solutions to fit our customers’ unique requirements, and by incorporating Intellichain’s skills we’ll be able to help customers seamlessly integrate their new and existing hardware and software systems.”

Intellichain MD Willem Cilliers said both MiX by Powerfleet and Intellichain are acutely aware that the power of shared supply chain information in real-time and on an efficient basis will be the only competitive advantage that matters for their customers in the future.

“An intelligent technology approach and better use of real-time tracking information equips customers in the supply chain arena with evolving functionality, enabling effective management of operations and continuous business growth,” said Cilliers.

The acquisition will see MiX by Powerfleet being able to provide its customers with an integrated platform, which seamlessly integrates telematics hardware with process software. This is then configured into industry specific solutions that further cater for customers’ unique requirements.

“This added integration will further enable us to provide fresh and valuable insights into our customers’ operations, helping them to reduce fleet operating costs and enhance overall levels of efficiency, effectiveness and productivity,” said Pretorius.
