For this reason, MiX Telematics was pleased to hear that the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has recently signalled its intention to pave the way for greater industry uptake of in-cab fatigue monitoring. The NHVR want to see more trucking operators “taking the technology out of the lab and into the cab” and will be reviewing existing technologies using data gathered from current programs such as the Smart Truck program being trialled by Volvo, Ron Finemore Transport and Monash University. As a global technology partner of Seeing Machines (who are involved in the aforementioned Smart Truck programme), MiX Telematics is excited to see what results it will bring.
