Rapid growth across Europe drives expansion for MiX Telematics

Birmingham – November 10, 2016 - MiX Telematics, one of the world's leading suppliers of telematics solutions and related consultancy services, has made a number of key appointments and expanded its partner network in response to the growing and sustained demand for its products throughout Europe.

"I am delighted to report increases in our subscriber base across a broad number of segments; Utility, Delivery, Passenger Transport, Company Car and Transport," comments Marc Trollet, Managing Director of MiX Telematics Europe and North Africa.  "As a result we are now active in no fewer than 15 European Union countries, and our latest round of expansion – both in terms of directly-employed personnel and partner companies – means we have effectively doubled our European network and resources."

The latest personnel appointments were announced at the company's bi-annual Partner Conference, held in early October in Budapest, Hungary, where the following key announcements were made as a mark of team strength and aligned strategy and focus across the continent and beyond into North Africa:

Richard Adams – UK Country Director

Richard Adams has been involved in delivering telematics solutions to the automotive world for the past 15 years.  As such, he has witnessed the development of telematics from fledgling technology to the established position it occupies within the industry today.  His experience spans truck, bus/coach, light commercial vehicles and cars across many sectors of industry, including transport and logistics, local authorities, utilities, emergency services and fleet.

In his new role at MiX Telematics, Richard takes responsibility for the company's UK sales operations.

"In joining MiX Telematics I am proud to be joining a highly professional and accomplished team," he comments.  "In addition to maximising our sales growth within the UK, maintaining and further developing relationships with our current customer base and prospects will be key focus areas for us going forward.  To help us achieve our goals we have an exciting and unrivalled range of products, both existing and in the pipeline.  It's a challenge I am relishing, and I am now looking forward to meeting our clients and prospects to discuss their business requirements and provide solutions which I am confident will not only meet but exceed their needs."

Luigi Maraffi – Head of European Sales

A long-time MiX Telematics employee, Luigi has moved from his post as Channel Manager to the position of Head of European Sales.  In his new role he is responsible for pan-European and key global accounts based in Europe as well as developing sales throughout continental Europe.

"These are exciting times for us, and we foresee excellent growth opportunities in all market segments in Europe," says Luigi.  "Going forward, I will be keen to develop ever-stronger relationships with partner organsations and expand into Countries where we do not already have a presence and specialists in the verticals in which we operate.  I believe we can also add value to the services provided by systems integrators in many cases, so this will be another area of interest for me."

Gavin Lancaster – Head of Professional Services, Europe & North Africa

Gavin is another long-time member of the MiX Telematics team who has played an active part in developing the scope and range of the company's consultancy services.  Gavin has now been appointed to the position of Head of Professional Services, managing a team of ten professionals serving customers throughout Europe and North Africa.

"We're involved in everything from assisting the sales force with pre-sales presentations to project managing installations and implementation.  Thereafter, we provide familiarisation and training, and work closely with our customers to set Key Performance Indicators and ensure Return on Investment goals are achieved.  In short, we help our customers get the most from their relationship with MiX Telematics.

Jonathan Bates – Marketing Director, Europe & North Africa

Jonathan has worked with MiX Telematics for the past four years, previously in the post of Product Marketing Manager.  In his new role, he will be responsible for defining and implementing the company's marketing and solutions strategies across Europe and North Africa.

"Developing cutting-edge solutions for operators across a spectrum of industry sectors has long been a key feature of the service MiX Telematics provides," says Jonathan.  "In my new role, the focus will be very much on continuing to build on our successes and broaden our appeal by further tailoring our offerings for the European market segments and progressively introducing new solutions into the portfolio that meet the ever-changing demands of operators.  One current example of an exciting new product we are introducing is MiX DriveMate.  This has been developed specifically for company car and light commercial vehicle operators and is already cultivating great interest."

Carole Dauguet – Senior Business Development Manager

An engineer by training, Carole Dauguet has spent the last nine years working in the telematics industry in France.  In her new role with MiX Telematics, Carole will be responsible for furthering awareness of the company's products and services and developing key accounts in France and Algeria.

"I am really excited to be joining MiX Telematics," says Carole.  "Not only is it a world-class operator, one of the five largest telematics companies in the business, it also has a highly motivated and thoroughly professional workforce.  It is a genuine pleasure to move into such as positive atmosphere, and I am really looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead."

Alexandra Szanyo – Senior Business Development Manager

Alexandra Szanyo has moved from working as a partner to MiX Telematics to becoming a Key Account Manager for the company's customers in the DACH region, (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and Hungary.  As a speaker of English, German, Hungarian, Italian, Spanish and Greek, Alexandra will focus on multinational accounts as well as regional operators.

"Our global presence is a major strength for us, and if a local partner gets support from our side by way of somebody who can deal with them in their own language – both to impart information and gain feedback from them – that gives a tremendous competitive advantage," says Alexandra.  "For the past 15 years I have worked in the technology and telematics industries as a connectivity specialist, and have seen first hand how such co-operations can work to great advantage.

"I am now very much looking forward to bringing my skills to MiX Telematics full time, working directly with our partner network and clients to further develop and grow our presence in the DACH region and Hungary."
